Two National Standards Related to WLAN Officially Published

Several days ago, China's Ministry of Information Industry submitted two national standards to Standardization Administration of the People's Republic of China for official publication. These two standards are Information Technology—Telecommunications and information exchange between Systems—Local and metropolitan area networks—Specific requirements—Part 11:Wireless LAN Medium Access Control(MAC)and Physical Layer(PHY)Specifications and Information Technology—Telecommunications and information exchange between Systems—Local and metropolitan area networks—Specific requirements—Part 11:Wireless LAN Medium Access Control(MAC)and Physical Layer(PHY)Specifications: Higher-Speed Physical Layer Extension in the 2.4GHz Band and drafted by China Broadband Wireless IP Standard Working Groups.

The officially published wireless LAN standards are the basic technology specifications for wireless LAN media access control and physical layer and its expansions. The two standards provide the technical resolution and specification principally adopting the international standards ISO/IEC8802.11:1999 and IEEE Std 802.11b-1999based on fully considering the interoperability of wireless LAN products and the security of the wireless LAN. The two standards will effectively regulate and lead the application and development of wireless LAN products.
