After receiving the compilation plan from Standardization Administration of the People’s Republic of China [2002] No.41, the standard draft affiliations were ready for the exact compilation schedule. The compilation group first collected correlated files--international standard ISO/IEC 8802-11: 1999 as the important reference for the standard; then analyzed the situation domestically and internationally, and studied the GB1.1—2000 Specifications for the Standard Working Group Part One: the organization and compile Specifications for the standard, also they combined the situation of China to do research and study. After many times of discussion from the group members, experts and its correlated management organization, the draft for the Information Technology—Telecommunications and information exchange between Systems—Local and metropolitan area networks—Specific requirements—Part 11: Wireless LAN Medium Access Control (MAC) and Physical Layer (PHY) Specifications (call for comments draft) was finished in December, 2002.
